Chicago Trip Poems: ***I’m a Poet & didn’t know it!***

With every stressful day comes stress releasing play!
A day at play is a day away from from the end of school in May!
A blog a day takes the fog away from history unrevealed.
And to this day I will always say on this trip I found my way!
—————————————————————————————–
Bret Bridgemen:
There once was a fella named “Tripod”
Who felt his name was quite odd
He yelled & he screamed & acted real mean
Till he found he became a “Wild Blog”

———————————————————————————————–
Paul Zschokke:
Oh Mini Me, Mini I
I think I’ll punch you in the eye
A marble statue which moves so fast
This fight, this day has been a blast,
Oh Doctor-Doctor can you see
My name is “Doctor Mini Me”

——————————————————————————————————
Mark Sims:
Mirror Mirror on the Wall
I can’t help that I’m so tall
History comes alive when I stand near
And you’ll never see me with a glass of beer
“Doctors” don’t fall or crack from fear
Fore if you look close, what do you see?
The splitting image of who, It’s Me!

—————————————————————————————————————–
Steve Alvarado:
It’s a bird, it’s a train
He’s a man in the rain
Taking life by the horns if he can
Driving hard, pushing all, he dare not fall
A hero to some, always seeking his fame
Clark Kent or Drew is his new name.

—————————————————————————————————-
David Hazlett:
Quiet and calm is what I see
A man of convictions, that is the key
Steady and strong just under the storm
Acurate like “RADAR” is always his form
A friend he will always be!

Up at the crack of dawn, or maybe at noon
Ready to BLOG and hear a great tune
A slayer of many in this great place
Working the magic with style & grace
Forever with drink and smile on his face
The tables have turned and it’s they on the prowl
Great warrior of fun don’t change from Eagle to Owl
The Hunter must not become the Hunted!

I didn’t know teachers actually drink beer. Can you get fired for that?

I certainly hope not. If teachers couldn’t drink beer someone might go “postal” or maybe they would call it going “teacher”. By the way, without beer 90% of the teachers would probably quit.
Sincerly, A hard working & hard driving teacher.

John, do you drink just when you teach prohibition or all the time?

Believe it or not, I don’t really drink that much. Unless I am on a trip with my peers a long way from home.

By the way, doesn’t anyone read the real blog with my impressions of the historical “STUFF” that we learned about? See “Blogging in the Land of Lincoln”

PS to King Hutch: Turn off the frickin’ music!!!!
Jonathan Rees

I can’t. It is attached to the slideshow from Philadelphia & until this blog gets to the next page it will keep playing. But you can always click the button on your computer to turn the music off. I get tired of it & thats how I deal with it. By the way, I have had many…many people tell me how much they like the music. You and Clark Kent (Steve Tunaman) are the first to complain about the music to me.

I concure with Jonathan’s comment on the music, by the way the establishment where we watched the Laker’s games was Sammie’s not Sonny’s. Get a grip John.

Sonny’s …Sammies ??? Whats the difference. By the way, I told you about the wrong name yesterday at lunch. Guess that was a better time to tell me to “Get A Grip!” Next time I will drink bottled water watching the game like you do.

Hey Hutch- it’s good to see the blogging is underway, and yours aren’t disappointing! Hope you are having fun, I thought I would check out what the original posse was up to; it’s not the same not being in Chicago with all of you!
Have fun, stay out of trouble, and don’t get lost anywhere!!!

Lauren,
I concur!! Maybe we “left behind posse members” should have a “history outing” of our own!!

Lauren,
Did I hear right? Did you finally have a baby? Congrads! Hope all is well with you. We really miss your company on this trip. It just is not the same without the whole “Posse” here! It is fun so far, but not the same as before. Well, have a great summer!

Yes I’m guessing that your missing our blogs to give you competition in the artistic category of blogging, and as the one who originally brought the slide show and music to blogging on these trips way back in Boston I have to say that I love the music King Hutch. More importantly, all joking aside, as a School Administrator I have a brand new appreciation for your Blogs John as well as many other’s on here and I know the big winner’s once again from this trip will be the students, you keep blogging and I’ll keep reading.

Brian, We sure do miss you on this trip! There was always so much insight and passion that you helped bring out in everyone. But Bret, we call him Tri-pod this year (you will have to ask him why) and I got out the first night and walked around Chicago getting our feet wet. It reminded me of just how fearless you were on these trips! Hope all is well & have a great summer!

Your image in the mirror is certainly better looking than the original. You also went from a yellow shirt to a salmon (not pink) shirt. Way to improve your image among teachers and professors who may be monitoring our blogs.

Doctor, I feel that the original image in front of the mirror is much stronger and a profound example for our young students of someone they can look up to! You go Doctor!!!
